Pai ( ปาย )
is a small town in northern Thailand's Mae Hong Son Province, near the Myanmar border, about 50 miles/80 km north of Chiang Mai on the northern route to Mae Hong Son. It lies along the Pai River. The town has thesaban tambon status and covers parts of the tambon Wiang Tai of Pai district
Tourist attractions in Pai
. Wat Nam Hoo ( วัดน้ำฮู )
Wat Nam Hoo is about 2km from Pai and houses a sacred Buddha image said to have once emitted holy water from its head. The place is popular with visiting Thais and there's a small market on the grounds.
. Historical Bridge – Pai ( สะพานประวัติศาสตร์ - ปาย )
Pai has a long history as people lived here for a thousand year. A Historical Bridge was built by the Japanese army during the WW II, it is the bridge to the city. This bridge was built across Pai river as the was to Burma. The bridge was used by all people, until Pai become the tourist attraction and many pour in the city and getting crowded.
. Pai Walking Street ( ถนนคนเดินเมืองปาย )
The Walking Street Market in Pai is located on Rungsiyanon Road.
It is another shopper’s paradise offering a wide range of souvenirs, unique handicrafts, lacquerware and hand-made clothes direct from highland villages and authentic street food. You can also find a big selection of postcards and following in the footsteps of a popular Thai movie, writing and sending a post card from Pai is one of the 'must do's' in Pai especially amongst Pai's Thai visitors.

Located 8km from Pai along the road to Chiang Mai, a paved stairway here culminates in an elevated lookout over high rock cliffs and the Pai valley. The latter can be followed by a dirt trail, but lacking shade, is best tackled in the morning or afternoon.

Getting to Pai
1. By car.
From Chiang Mai to Mae Taeng through line 107. Through the Mae Malai turn left onto Highway 1095 road to Mae Malai - Pai. Pa Pae, Huai Nam Dang Pong boil over a distance of about 103 kilometers and takes about 3 hours and the route is paved. Despite the steep winding. The scenery on either side of a very high view.
